William “Bill” Leeper
81, of Eaton, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Wilkinson; and siblings, John Leeper and Betty Vink.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Peggy Leeper; stepchildren, Harold (Marcy) Farler, Bonnie (Brian) Rose, and Dusty (Samantha) Farler; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoskins, Kyle Rose, Jeff Rose, Logan Farler, William Farler, Seth Mapes, and Mary Craig; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Pat Montgomery.
Bill honorably served his country as a dedicated member of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Ohio National Guard. His commitment to duty took him overseas to Vietnam, where he was injured in combat and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. He later served once again in the Gulf War, continuing his lifelong dedication to protecting and defending his country.
A proud member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the American Legion Post #322, Bill found great camaraderie among fellow veterans and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His sense of service extended beyond the military, as he embodied the values of loyalty, perseverance, and kindness in all aspects of his life.
Outside of his service, Bill found joy in the great outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and camping, especially in Michigan, where he found peace and relaxation. He also enjoyed bowling and had a passion for putting together model cars, a hobby that reflected his patience and keen attention to detail.
Bill’s legacy of strength, honor, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
