Walter Daniel “Dan” Cloud

age 77, of Camden, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2026, after a short illness. Born February 12, 1949, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Walter A. and Anna Lorene (Crouch) Cloud. Dan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer C. (Cloud) Payne in 2016; grandson Nicholas J. Cloud in 1993; brother, Douglas Cloud Sr. and his wife Peggy; sister Carolyn Huentelman and her husband Hank.

Dan is survived by his wife, Georgetta (Pettus) Cloud; son, Danny (Laurie) Cloud of Florida; daughters, Eshelle (Derek) Bales and Charo (Wendell) Mackie; grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler C., Tayler, Tyler P., Emma (Justis), Jessica (Gregory), Tayah (Jordan), Jacob, Nathan, Nolan, KeAnthony, Rylan (Ashton), KyTiana, Kemarion, Hayden, Abby, Layla, Ben, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Eleanor) Cloud, along with many nieces, nephews, union brothers, special friends James and Sharon Kilburn, and his fur baby Lexi.

Dan worked as a Journeyman Electrician until his retirement in 2004 from the (IBEW) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 648. He was a proud member of the union for 56 years, having been inducted on December 1, 1970. Known affectionately as “Dirty Dan” among his union brothers and as “Old Fart” to his grandchildren.

He enjoyed singing quirky little tunes, sticking his tongue out at the grandkids, and aggravating his wife. He loved history, politics and the news. Dan was gifted in building, woodworking, drawing, and writing, and was always ready with a joke. He will be remembered for his quick wit, creativity, and sarcastic remarks. Dan will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Dan’s service will be full of stories, sharing of memories and fellowship with those who are able to attend.

The Family will receive friends on Friday March 27, 2026, from 5PM - 7PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER 3377 US Rte. 35 West Alexandria, Ohio 45381 and Saturday March 28, 2026, from 1PM – 2PM with an IBEW service starting at 2PM.
