Shawn Edward Baird

Age 60, of New Lebanon, passed away peacefully August 24, 2026 surrounded by the love of his children.

He was born on July 30, 1966, to Sharon (Baird) Frusher.

Shawn is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ashley Danielle Baird, and his son, Tristan James Baird.

He is survived by his wife; Angie Baird children, Lisha (Derick), Zachary (Brandy), Emilee (Trent), Kassidee (Bradley), Aleah (Zach), Dominick, Austin, Lilly, Preston, and Sebastian; grandchildren, Kyerstin, Kyleigh, Lydia, Blake, Gage, Gabby, Madison, Roger, Olivia, Gabe, Jameson, Oden, Delilah, Grady, Maela; and Baby Macher, a precious grandchild he never got the chance to meet, but whom he already loved dearly and was so looking forward to welcoming into the world; his estranged daughter, Krista (Brandon).

Shawn took great pride in his painting business and in the people, he mentored along the way. He worked hard, taught others what he knew, and built relationships that went far beyond the workplace.

Above all else, Shawn was an amazing dad and grampy. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, he loved spending time with his family. Some of the best memories were made around his famous cookouts, where family and friends gathered. If Shawn was doing the grilling, there was only one acceptable choice: charcoal. He loved the simple things in life; peanut butter crackers, Pepsi on ice and Winston Reds.

Shawn also loved coaching softball and was affectionately known as “Coach Baird” by the kids. He made a lasting impression on the young people he coached, teaching them not only about the game but also about teamwork, confidence and having fun.

Shawn was a devoted father, an amazing grampy, friend, mentor, and a man who never hesitated to take others under his wing. He had a way of making people feel like family, and he touched many lives through his kindness, guidance, and big heart will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former co workers and all those fortunate enough to have known him. The memories he created from family cookouts and the many lives he touched will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

His greatest legacy will not be measured by the work he completed, but by the people he loved, the people he helped, and the lives he made better simply by being a part of them. He was loved deeply. He will be missed endlessly. And he will never be forgotten.
