Ruth W. Howdieshell

Ruth W. Howdieshell, 101, of Brookville, OH, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, June 24, 2017. Born September 17, 1915 in St. Mary's, OH, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ida Mae (Delaney) Ilgen. Ruth was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she had also worked for 23 years at the Master Division of Koehring in Dayton and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Brookville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Walter A. Howdieshell in April of 1991; daughter Judith N. Howdieshell in December of 2014; brothers Melvin H. Ilgen and Lawrence Ilgen, Jr.; sisters Loretta Richter and Mary Clegg; and nephew Ron Clegg. Survived by children Jerald A. Howdieshell and wife Marilyn of Brookville; Douglas Howdieshell of LaGrange, OH; and Beverly A. Howdieshell of Brookville: grandchildren Lynda Zichterman and husband Bryan of Hudsonville, MI; Sheri Slusher and husband Randy of Brookville; Steve Howdieshell of Clayton; and Sheli Howdieshell of Union: 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; special niece Sally Fugate of Eaton; and special friend Delores Staggs of New Lebanon.
