Rosa Phillips

Rosa Phillips, 80, of Hazard, KY and formerly of Eaton, OH passed away early Saturday morning, September 8, 2018 at the ARH Regional Medical Center in Hazard. Born January 23, 1938 in Hazard, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie (Bush) Sandlin. She loved Hazard and recently moved back home after many years in Ohio. Much of her family lived in Kentucky and she moved to be able to spend more time with them. A member of the Pentecostal faith, she loved to sing and enjoyed fishing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on December 10, 2007 by husband William B. Phillips, whom she married November 27, 1959; brothers and sisters Kelly Sandlin, Marion Sandlin, Ed Sandlin, Edna Amburgy and Becky Noble. Survived by children William D. Phillips of Hazard, Johnny Phillips and wife Pam of Corbin, KY, Mary Phillips of Hazard, Charlie Phillips of Indiana, and Jeffery Phillips and wife Michelle of Hazard; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother Freddie Sandlin of Gays Creek, KY. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US RT. 35 - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Carter presiding. Burial Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
