Noel K. Nushawg Jr.
62, of New Lebanon, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with his mother on Friday, April 10, 2026.
He was born May 5, 1963, in Dayton, to the late Carolyn S. (Hunt) Neyman.
In addition to his mother, Noel was preceded in death by his stepdad, Dave Neyman; and grandparents Robert and Mary Hunt; and step grandma Phyillis Hunt.
He is survived by his 3 children, Jennifer (Adam) Bowling, Noel (Rachel) Nushawg III, and Angela (Brandon) Nushawg; grandchildren, Kaylie (Zayne) Reineke, Landon Bowling, Jocelyn Bowling, Riley Nushawg, Lila Nushawg, and Chloe Klein; and one great grandchild Sybil Reineke; uncles, Bobby and Jim; and many more family and friends.
Noel found his greatest peace in nature, whether casting a line into the quiet waters of Lake Cumberland, spending time fishing at Mama’s pond, or heading out before sunrise for a day of hunting. These moments weren’t just hobbies for him; they were traditions, often shared with family and friends, where time slowed down and stories came alive.
A natural storyteller, He had a gift for turning even the simplest moment into something unforgettable. His tales, sometimes a little taller with each telling, were delivered with a grin and a sparkle in his eye, leaving everyone around him laughing. He was a jokester at heart, always ready with a playful remark or a well-timed prank that brought joy to those who knew him.
He also had a passion for collecting antiques, finding beauty and history in objects others might overlook. Each piece he collected had a story, much like the man himself, rich, unique, and worth sharing.
He proudly dedicated 36 years of hard work to the Laborers Local 1410 Union Hall before retiring, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment. That same dedication carried through every part of his life, especially in the way he cared for his family and friends.
Simply keeping Noel company at home, Charlotte was more than a pet, she was a loyal companion and a true friend. Their bond was unmistakable, and she brought him comfort, joy, and plenty of reasons to smile.
Noel will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his love of the outdoors, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.
In honor of Noel, if you would like to come dressed up in your best 80’s style clothes or construction/ union uniform. If you are feeling frisky wear an 80’s cut off shirt.
