Farmersville

Mary Lou Looker

age 84 of Farmersville passed away March 24, 2025, at New Lebanon Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a 1958 graduate of Farmersville High School

She was born on July 30, 1940, to the late James and Elsie (Crook) Focht of Farmersville. She was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Harold Emerick of New Lebanon; and son-in-law, Nathan Warnick of Farmersville.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Gerald Looker; daughter, Cindy Warnick of Farmersville, 2 granddaughters, Jacki (Kermit) Flory of Greenville and Kelsie (Ilijah) Tyler of Chauncey; brother, James (Linda) Focht of Farmersville; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to all those who supported Mary Lou, especially Joey Ramsey.

Mary Lou found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether hunting for mushrooms in the woods, growing her beloved Naked Lady lilies around her yard, or embarking on motorcycle journeys through the Smoky Mountains with her husband, Gerald. She had a keen eye for history, collecting fossils and arrowheads from the family farm, and she delighted in the hunt for unique treasures while antique shopping.

Mary Lou’s heart was always open to the wild and the wonderful. She nurtured orphaned wildlife, providing a safe haven for foxes, skunks, and other creatures in need. Boating on the serene waters of Lake Cumberland brought her peace, and she shared quiet, meaningful moments reading novels and researching genealogy with her daughter, Cindy.

Her presence was a gift to all who knew her- her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on in the beauty of nature she so dearly adored and in the hearts of those who were blessed to love her.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 28 from 10AM to 11AM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria.  A graveside service will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
