Mary V. Laughlin

Mary V. Laughlin, 85, of New Lebanon, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 12, 2016 following a lengthy illness. Born February 28, 1931 in Windber, PA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph & Amanda Pearl (Shaffer) Wise. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Farmersville, OH. Mary was quick with a smile and a laugh. A talented artist, she enjoyed reading and working puzzles and had served as "cookie mom" at church for many years. Her family was everything to her. She was greatly loved and will be missed by those who loved her and knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by beloved husband Byron W. "Bill" Laughlin on February 5, 2013: grandson Dustin Laughlin on April 6, 2015: sisters and brother Wilma Gray, Ruth Bachtell, William Wise and Joan Horvath. Survived by children Byron J. Laughlin & wife Sylvia of Miamisburg, OH; Elaine A Cope & husband Cecil of Trotwood, OH; and Timothy Laughlin & wife Michelle of West Alexandria, OH: grandchildren Sarah (Cory) Black, Joshua (Heather) Cope and James (Theresa) Laughlin: great grandchildren Ryan Black, Grace Black, Lily Ann Laughlin, Chase Michael Cope and Aiden James Laughlin: sisters Betty Kosicki and Esther Wise, both of Englewood, OH; and Jean Morgart of Windber, PA. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 pm Friday, April 15 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
