Martha L. Holmes

Martha L. Holmes, 90, of Dayton, OH, passed away Thursday evening, January 5, 2017. Martha was born June 12, 1926 in Jonesville, VA. She was a stay at home wife and mother for many years. Later in life, she began work outside the home, first with a temp agency for 4 years, working at the Dayton Nut Company and Mikesell's potato chips; then retired after 7 years in the Dietary Department at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Dayton. Martha enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading and was a longtime member of the North Riverdale Brethren Church in Dayton,. Martha is survived by son Darrell J. Holmes of Dayton; and sister Jane Pannill of Wyoming. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Irvin Holmes on June 15, 1979; son Lancel E. Holmes on March 19, 2004; daughter Joyce Kay Holmes in 1949; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Robert L.
