Mabel M. Pollock
86, of Eaton, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 surrounded by her family.
She was born November 11, 1939, in Mariba, Kentucky, to the late Omar W. and Corda M. (Back) Wilson.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her first husband, Verlin Pollock, and her second husband, Paul Stephenson; as well as her siblings, Thomas Craft, James Junior Craft, and Betty Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Sean) Miley; grandchildren, Troy (Ashley) Miley, Chad (Alyssa) Miley, and Marica (Brandon) Miley; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Evelyn, Grant, and Jordyn; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and many other family members.
Mabel will be remembered as a vibrant and joyful spirit whose presence could light up any room. A true social butterfly, she found great happiness in the company of others, especially while dancing at the Preble County Council on Aging or gathering around the table for a lively game of Euchre with friends.
She dedicated many years of work to Aeronca before continuing her career at National Trail Schools, where she served as a beloved office secretary until her retirement. In that role, Mabel was often the welcoming face of the school, known for her kindness, organization, and steady support to students and staff alike.
At home, Mabel took pride in helping on the family farm, a reflection of her strong work ethic and love for her roots. She also cherished time spent traveling with her family, creating treasured memories along the sunny shores of Florida and South Carolina.
Mabel had a special fondness for shopping trips, which were never complete without a stop out to eat for a delicious meal and good conversation. These outings, like so many moments in her life, were filled with laughter and connection.
Above all, Mabel’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. Her warmth, energy, and love for life will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 12 PM to 2 PM at Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Mabel will be laid to rest at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
