Lovella Cole
89, of West Alexandria, went to meet her husband, Robert, in Heaven, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
She was born May 11, 1936, in Oneida, Kentucky, to the late Arthur R. and Ida (Daniel) Arnett.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lovella was preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Lee Means, Irvin Arnett, Douglas Arnett, Bev A. Arnett, Eri Joe Arnett, and Roy Leslie Arnett.
She is survived by her children, JoAnne Thomson and husband Bob, Jeff Cole, Lori J. Brannon and husband Mark, and Neil Scott Cole and wife Katherine; grandchildren Robert, Brooke, Victoria, Ashley, Samantha, Chelsea, Tonya, Taylor, Erin and Cloe; several great grandchildren; sister, Rhea Williams; and brother, Eugene Arnett.
Lovella’s world was never measured in miles traveled or titles held, but in the love she poured into her family. Her greatest joy, and indeed her life’s purpose, was taking care of her children and grandchildren. To her, there was no higher calling than making sure they were cherished, supported, and endlessly spoiled with the kind of attention only a mother and grandmother could give.
Her home was the heart of the family, place where every celebration was made brighter by her presence, every worry was eased by her gentle reassurance, and every child knew without question that they were loved beyond measure. Lovella seemed to have an unshakable instinct for what each person needed, whether it was a warm meal, a patient ear, or just a reminder that they were her whole world.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 27 from 12PM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Lovella’s nephew, Billy Ray Arnett, officiating. Lovella will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
