Lois E. Risner-Hoops

85, of Brookville, is absent from her body, and is now present with our Lord, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

She was born April 4, 1940, in Clearfield, Tennessee, to the late Samual E. and Jo Ree (Graham) Overton.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her first husband, David W. Risner Sr.; second husband, Paul H. Hoops; siblings, Ann, Verlin, Don, Delena, Edwina, and Barbara; and stepdaughter, Kayelynn Hoops.

She is survived by her children, David W. (Martha) Risner, Rhonda D. Risner, Randall S. Risner, and Susan Risner-Bang; stepson, Martin Hoops; grandchildren, Jennah (Jack), Joseph, Josephine, Olivia, Molly, Grace, Lily, Kierra, Brianna, and Malia; step grandchildren, Jennifer, Danielle, Renee, and Brian; great grandchildren, Aeden, Guinivere, Allaric, and Arminius; siblings, Juanita, Evelyn, Carol, Wayne, Kyle, and Darrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois will be fondly remembered as a woman whose warmth, energy, and faith touched all who knew her. A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she lived her faith through kindness, service, and a deep love for her community. Whether she was volunteering at church events or offering a comforting word to a friend in need, Lois’s gentle spirit and steadfast devotion reflected a life well-lived.

Outside of church, Lois was known for her love of simple joys and meaningful moments. She could often be found in her flower garden, carefully tending to her beloved roses and passion fruit vines—each bloom a reflection of the beauty she cultivated in her life. Her love of adventure took her square dancing with friends and camping under the stars at Ohio State Parks, where laughter and fellowship were always part of the experience.

But nothing in the world brought Lois more happiness than her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them—whether sharing stories, baking treats, or simply being together. Her love for them was boundless, and her legacy of affection and faith will live on in their hearts.

A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.

Contributions in memory of Lois can be made to your local food bank or food pantry.
