Laura S. McIntosh

92, of Farmersville, gained her wings and flew to Heaven on Monday, August 18, 2025.

She was born November 11, 1932, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to the late Melvin and Elizabeth (Howard) Stacy.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Arch McIntosh Jr.; daughter, Marilyn Haas; and five siblings.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Ronda) McIntosh; grandsons, Matthew, Evan (Beth); and great grandchildren, Tyler, Dalilah, Ava, Vincent, and Aurora.

Laura retired from Inland (General Motors) after 30 years. She lived her life with quiet determination, gentle hands, and a heart that bloomed like the flowers she so carefully nurtured. She had a knack for creating beauty—whether it was making graceful ceramics, stitching intricate designs into needlepoint, or patiently fitting together the countless pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Every project she touched carried her mark of patience, creativity, and love.

She took pride in her home, especially in her flower gardens, where vibrant blooms stood as evidence of her care and hard work. Even mowing the lawn, often with a push mower, brought her joy—an act that reflected her strong spirit and her love for simple, meaningful tasks.

Of all her blessings, none were greater than her grandsons. Evan cherished her not only as his grandma but also as his best friend, a constant source of love, comfort, and laughter. Matthew shared a close bond with her as her caregiver, offering her the same care and devotion she had poured into her family for a lifetime.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 11AM to 12PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria.  The funeral service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Ben Myers officiating.  Laura will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Arch, at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
