Kay C. Richardson
80, of Eaton, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025.
She was born September 14, 1944 to the late Woodrow “Woody” and Maurine Bowen.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Temmyson “Tim” Richardson; son, Todd Shiflett; brothers, Glen and Gene Bowen; and great granddaughter, Alexus Reedy.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Pierce, Jill (Rick) Reedy, Jason (Christine) Richardson, and Rebeca Alday; 9 grandchildren, Rebbeca (Josh) Langworthy, Heather (Billy) Summers, Gerald (Jerrica) Estes, Adam Shiflett, Rod Reedy, Tori (JJ) Reedy, Heidi Reedy, Spencer Richardson, and Bruce Hevener; 13 great grandchildren; and brother, Wayne (Carol) Bowen.
A true bingo enthusiast, it didn’t matter where she played, as long as there was a chance to win, Kay was there, dauber in hand and a smile on her face. Her competitive spirit and warm laughter lit up every bingo hall she walked into.
Kay, with her daughter, Lisa, had a tradition of visiting Miami Valley Gaming to pull the slot machines, turning those quick trips into small celebrations, especially after Kay’s brave journey through chemotherapy. Her strength and determination paid off: she beat cancer.
Kay’s heart, however, was always at the beach. Florida’s coast held a special place in her soul. Whether walking along the shore or simply sitting nearby soaking in the salty breeze and listening to the waves, the ocean brought her peace and comfort, even when she could no longer dip her toes in the water.
She also had a love for motorcycles and the thrill of Bike Week in Daytona. The rumble of engines and the energy of the crowd were things she looked forward to each year. It was another way she embraced life.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9 from 12PM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria, with the funeral service starting at 1PM. Kay will be laid to rest at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery beside her son, Todd.
