Jesse Melton

76 of Dayton, went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 12, 2026.

He was born December 6, 1949, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Daniel Earl Melton, Jr and Laura (Eversole) Melton.

In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Melton; sisters, Geraldine Humphrey and Earline Ritchie; and nephew, Donnie Ritchie.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen and husband, Tony Collins and Linda and husband, Nathaniel Quisenberry; stepson, Jerry and wife Kathy, Midkiff; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jesse lived a life defined by kindness, faith, and a willingness to help others. A devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams and sharing in the excitement of every season.

His faith was an important part of his life. Jesse faithfully served at First Baptist Church of New Lebanon, where he volunteered at church events and worked as a janitor. Whether preparing for a gathering, lending a hand behind the scenes, or simply offering encouragement, he took pride in serving his church family.

More than anything, Jesse will be remembered for his selfless heart. He never hesitated to help someone in need and often put the concerns of others before his own. His quiet acts of generosity and compassion touched many lives and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Jesse will be laid to rest at Bear Creek Cemetery in Dayton, beside his wife, Judy.
