James “Jim” Ray Jewett, Sr.
Age 64 of Eaton, Ohio went to be with Jesus on Wednesday July 16, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jim was born on September 20, 1960, in Dayton.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Norman L. Jewett. He is survived by his Mother Julie Jewett, wife of 10 years, Heather Jewett, Children; Sara Timmons, Danny (Katlyn) Jewett, Jimmy (Holly) Jewett, Gage (Sara) Carpenter, Shea (Paige) Salyers, Presley and Hunter Jewett, Grandchildren; Jayden, Jaxson, Easton, Aurora, Maddie, Saylor and Lilly.
Jim was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to every task he took on. He spent many years working at Walmart, where his commitment and kindness left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. Above all, he was a great friend to everyone.
Jim was a passionate football fan and an enthusiastic supporter of the New York Giants. His love for the game extended far beyond the living room; for many years, he coached football in New Miami, inspiring and mentoring countless young athletes. Jim enjoyed baseball and truly appreciated every game, no matter the season or team. His spirit of camaraderie and encouragement on and off the field touched the lives of everyone who shared his love of sports.
Above all, Jim cherished his children and family, finding his greatest joy in the moments spent together. Whether it was a lively holiday gathering or a quiet evening at home, he treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved. His warmth, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by many. Jim's legacy is one of love, devotion, and a life well lived—forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
A visitation will be held on Thursday July 24, 2025, from 5PM – 7PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 25, 2025, at 12PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
