James W. Erisman, 

Age 100 years and six months of Farmersville, Ohio, went to his Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

He was born November 27, 1925, and was the son of Wilbur and Dorothy (Mendenhall) Erisman.

Jim retired from the United Postal Service after years of dedicated service. He was a disabled World War II veteran, being wounded at the Battle of the Bulge on January 17, 1945.

Jim was a faithful member of the Farmersville Christian Church, and grew up in Slifer’s Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon and teacher, as well as general handyman for whatever the church might need.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife Cleo (Neptune) Erisman; his five siblings and their spouses; brothers-in-law, numerous cousins, friends and family. Jim has missed his dear friends from their long time at euchre club, neighbors that became family and many community friends one can only make over a century.

Jim is survived by his children, Sheri and Tom Wallace, Jim Erisman, Jack and Paula Erisman, and Jeff and Pam Erisman; six grandchildren who adored him and their spouses; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren (+2 coming). He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and special cousin Dewitt Erisman.

Friends may call on the family from 12PM to 2PM on Tuesday, May 19 at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria. The funeral services will follow at 2PM with Pastor Ralph Vencill, Pastor J. Todd Smith, and Pastor Brian Erisman presiding. Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife, Cleo, in the Preble Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The family wishes to thank all of the many friends and family that have become such a source of love and comfort. Special friend, and neighbor, Jim Winters for the welcome visits and talks. Thanks to Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care and support to the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmersville Fire & Rescue, the Farmersville Christian Church, Wounded Warrior Project, or Hospice of Dayton.
