Edwin Waddell

Edwin Waddel, 81, of Dayton, OH, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2011. Born in Hamilton, OH, he was a son of the late Gardner & Anna (Thomas) Waddell. Mr. Waddell served with the US Army Airborne during the Korean War. He retired after 20 years of service as a wellfield operator with the Montgomery County Water Department. He previously worked 25 years at NCR in Dayton. Member of Friendship Masonic Lodge # 737 in West Carrollton, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Gary Waddell in March of 2010: sisters and brother Juanita Barker, Irene Burton and Darrell Waddell. Survived by wife Mary C. (Wehrley) Waddell whom he married December 16, 1950: children Jerry Waddell & wife Marilyn of Dayton; and Mary Ann Weitkamp &husband Tom of Delaware: 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren: brothers and sisters Geneva Bane of Richmond, IN; Garland Waddell of Connersville, IN; twin sister Edith Roberts of California; Gailen Waddell of Dayton; Glendon Waddell of FL; Ronnie Waddell of FL; Janice Potter of Richmond, IN; and Geraldine Breen of Richmond, IN. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
