Dorothea F. Waggoner

Age 87, of Eaton, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 2, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Everett L. Waggoner; mother, Violet “Nin” Hake; step-father, Andrew Hake; sister, Carolyn Sue Elliott and her husband, Nathan; and brother, Gary Hake, and his wife, Sharon.

Dorothea is survived by her children, Mike Howe, and his wife, Debbie, Darrell Howe, Marsha Macy, and her fiancé, Shane Koogler, and John Waggoner, and his wife, Rita; grandchildren, Kelsey, Brayden, Tara, Allie, Andrea, Jonathan, Eric, and Andrew; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Joe and Violet Hake; and many more family and friends.

Dorothea lived a life centered on faith, family, and finding happiness in life's simple pleasures. A faithful member of the Eaton Community of Faith church, she carried a kind and caring spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

She never believed that making memories had to be expensive. Whether gathering with family and friends, sharing conversations around the table, or simply enjoying each other's company, those were the moments she treasured most.

In her younger years, Dorothea loved riding her bicycle to Fort St. Clair and spending time walking through the park, appreciating the outdoors and the peaceful beauty around her. She found contentment in the little things and taught those around her that love, laughter, and togetherness were life's greatest blessings.

Dorothea's greatest legacy is the love she shared so freely. Her gentle heart, quiet strength, and appreciation for the simple blessings in life will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created with her family and friends will remain a lasting source of comfort for years to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Eaton Community of Faith Church, 400 N Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH 45338 and/or, the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 E. St. Clair Street, Eaton, OH 45320 in memory of Dorothea.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 11 from 10AM to 12PM at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, with the funeral service beginning at 12PM. Dorothea will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Everett, at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
