Clifford Cassidy
Age 70, of West Alexandria, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026.
He was born December 14, 1955 in Middletown, Ohio, to the late Billy and Mary Lou Cassidy.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Cassidy.
He is survived by his daughters, Taylor N. Cassidy, Billie Jo Ryan and son-in-law, Roger Hercutt; along with 3 other children; grandchildren, James Black, Chloe Ryan, and Cam Hercutt; 10+ grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and one sister.
Cliff passed away leaving behind a legacy of strength, honesty, and unwavering love for his family and friends. A proud Marine, Cliff carried the values of service, courage, and loyalty with him throughout his life, something he often reflected on in the stories he shared, stories his family will forever cherish.
Cliff found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. He loved being out on the water, especially heading north during the Salmon Run, casting lines alongside his friends from the boat. Those trips weren’t just about fishing, they were about camaraderie, laughter, and memories that will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to be there.
At home, Cliff could often be found sitting out on the porch, surrounded by family and friends, telling stories from years gone by while watching hummingbirds dart and dance as they competed for their share of food. These quiet, familiar moments brought him peace and reflected the deep appreciation he had for life.
Cliff was known for being a man who told it like it was. He never sugar-coated anything, but those who knew him best understood that his honesty came from a place of sincerity and care. He was a loving father, a loyal friend, and someone you could always count on to be real with you.
He was a dedicated member of Local 534 Union, where he spent many long days and nights working hard to provide for his family. His work ethic and commitment were a testament to the kind of man he was- steadfast, dependable, and deeply devoted.
In his downtime, Cliff enjoyed watching drag racing, whether it was live or an old rerun, and could always be found laughing along to Jeff Dunham or keeping up with the latest news. These simple pleasures brought him comfort and joy.
Cliff’s faith was an important part of his life. He attended church with friends, found peace in conversations about his beliefs, and spent time in prayer in recent years. He often shared that he had no regrets, expressing gratitude for the life he lived and the people he loved.
Cliff will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His stories, his laughter, his honesty, and his love will live on in the memories he leaves behind.
He was truly one of a kind, and he will forever be loved and remembered.
