Chester Dewey Cook Sr.

Chester Dewey Cook, Sr., age 74. Of Richmond, IN, has been called to be with the angels on Monday evening December 31, 2018 at his home, surrounded by loving family and friends. Chester was born February 1, 1944 in Caneyville, KY, he was the 8th of 12 children born to the late John T. and Minnie I. (Elder) Cook. Chester was a lifelong resident of Richmond. He worked at Richmond Square Mall in the early 1970's until he went to work at Wallace Metals at J.M. Hutton, and retired in 1988. Chester loved bowling and big cars. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years Vida Sue (King) Cook of Richmond, whom he married on February 26, 1975 in Eaton. Together they raised 7 boys and 2 girls; Ronnie Casteel, Billy (Jamie) Cook, Chester (Carol) Cook, Jr., Randy Cook, Michael (Debbie) Cook, Joe (Robin) Cook, Deborah (Steve) Mays and Angela Cook; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sister Katherine (Warren) Childress. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son Leroy Cook; grandson Vernon "Lee" Cook; daughter-in-law Rena Cook; brothers Jessie, Bill, Russell, Jim, John, Jr. and Roger "Rod"; sisters Nova, Loreen, Aggie and Daisy. Friends may call on the family from 12 :00 - 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria, OH.
