Charles "Bill" Fogle

Charles W. "Bill" Fogle, age 85, a longtime resident of Farmersville and New Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 following an extended illness. Born October 11, 1925 in New Lebanon (Johnsville), he was a son of the late Charles A. & Lulu (Shollenbarger) Fogle. He honorably served as a Medical Aidman in the US Army during WW II. Bill retired after 40 years as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Union Local #104. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and his horses. As a woodworker, he made a number of items for his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother Fred Fogle; and sisters Elizabeth Ann Brumbaugh and Janet McCloud. Survived by wife Florence I. (Landis) Fogle of New Lebanon, whom he married May 28, 1944: children Ronald Fogle & wife Carol of Farmersville; Sharon Gilbert of Eaton, OH; and Connie Brown & husband Oscar of New Lebanon: grandchildren Lorie (Rick) Dalton, Tammy (John) Kimball, Annette (Adam) Hall, Tiffani (Phil) Wade, Kristi Stockslager: great grandchildren Audrey Burke, Aimee and Bryan Dalton, Krystal and Katie Hall, Suzanne, Rachael and Alison Kimball, Andrew and Connor Wade: brother Richard (Joyce) Fogle of New Lebanon: and sister Eileen McNinch of New Lebanon. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Albert Reffitt presiding.
