Billy Michael Anthony

68, of Dayton, was called Home, Sunday, February 9, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Lee Anthony and Mary C. (Sleppy) Anthony-James; and significant others, Rev. Joseph H. Gilbert and Gary Ruffin.

Billy is survived by his siblings, Rickey Anthony, Paulette Rediger, and Mary E. Wolf.

Billy had a deep love for nature, spending countless hours tending to his garden. His tomatoes and peppers flourished under his care, becoming the key ingredients for the homemade salsa he joyfully shared and sold at church—always with the hope of bringing people together through good food and fellowship.

A devoted cat lover, Billy found great comfort and companionship in his feline friends, who were never far from his side. His gentle and nurturing nature extended to all creatures, reminding us of the beauty in kindness and patience.

Billy’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. As a lifelong member of Eternal Joy Metropolitan Community Church, he embodied the church’s message of love and inclusion, offering friendship and encouragement to all who crossed his path. His presence in the congregation will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:30PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, West Alexandria, with Rev. Keith Cornett officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
